Corbett Halloween

Well yet another Halloween at the Corbett Clan estate. This year we decided not to scare the neighborhood children, so we put on masks. We had the yard all decked for the holiday. (The cover story was that these were 'fake' gravestones and graves for Halloween.)

Jeremiah said that he would hang out in the graveyard so he could scare the heck out of the little kids. However, at being beat up by several 6 year old girl scouts, we knew we would have to replace him with something scarier or meaner.

We would just have to wait till Mac got done with her Trick or Treating. Here she is extorting candy from the other children in her daycare. It was something like if they wanted to leave, they would have to pay the "Pretty mermaid" in chocolate. Or, suffer the consequences.

As you can see, we had the whole front of the house done with carved pumpkins, Skeletons, Witches and other scary things, like Nate's socks and Jere's underwear. We felt that this was one of our better Halloweens, we had a total of 12 kids that needed therapy after visiting us. 6 children still can't be found, and 3 alley cats are absent. all in all, a good Halloween.

Could you imagine having this greet your children when they go to Trick or Treat??

More Corbett days

Well, here's yet another posting for you folks showing the Corbett clan in their natural habitat. Speaking of habitat, here's a friendly visitor to our house a few nights ago.

Real nice guy. We kept him so we can keep tabs on the kids.
Nothing says 'discipline' like a set of talons to the neck. ;)

Other than that, not too much going on with us. We've been hitting the football games with the boys.
The boys are having a pretty decent season. We have Jeremy's team with 7-0 and Nathan's team with 4-3. (Amazing that these boys can do so much on the field, yet so little at home...) Speaking of which, here is a video of them.

And here's a little motivational picture for everyone.

Renovation Time

Well, It seems that the old lady had decided that it was time to do something. So instead of something fun like go to a park or see a movie, she "suggested" that we put hardwood floors down throughout the downstairs. Yeah, loads of fun... Anywho. I figured it was either 4 days of pain and torture that would kill my wallet, or 12 years of unending agony of listening to how much "my husband doesn't love me!"
So I wimped out and did the floors. (yes, I am whipped, nothing new here) Anyhow, here are some of the pictures from the rework of the area..

(hint) we went from the yellow and white bookcase to the hardwood and cherry bookcases. so that should help you figure out the before and after.
Anyhow, so now that that is over with, I can breathe for a few moments while she sits back going: " you know what honey? You know what would look REALLY nice in here...?"
-and I pray for a quick and painless release...

-Also here is a video of the floors being worked on. (I knew those kids would come in handy some day!)

First post.

Ok, here is my first post to this new "family" blog. I have added this in due to the fact that most of the family would rather get their kicks off of my suffering rather than be enlighten by my meaningful muses about the world of the internet. so F-I-N-E, let the laughter at my expense commence.

I figured I would start off with a bang and hopefully a lesson to anyone who is thinking about having kids.. I don't want to say that this video could be used as a form of birth control but, if this doesn't scare you celibate, nothing will.

This was filmed during a 11-hour road trip to Pennsylvania this year.

This is the children playing "nice" with each other during summer vacation.
-So does anybody still want to have kids??
